Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASCs) are specialized facilities where patients can undergo surgeries that don’t require an overnight hospital stay. Designed to provide a cost-effective and convenient alternative to traditional hospitals, ASCs offer a comfortable, less stressful environment. Patients arrive on the day of their procedure, receive surgery in a fully equipped operating room, and recover under the care of highly skilled nurses—without the need for hospital admission.
ASCs serve patients of all ages, offering a family-friendly atmosphere that helps make the experience smoother and more relaxed. While some ASCs focus on specific specialties, such as eye care or sports medicine, others offer a broad range of surgical services.
ASCs are distinct from rural health clinics, urgent care centers, and other outpatient facilities that provide diagnostic or primary care services. ASCs serve only patients who have already seen a healthcare provider and chosen surgery as the best treatment for their condition. Unlike a physician's office, every ASC has at least one dedicated operating room and the equipment required to perform surgery safely, ensuring high-quality patient care.
